Hi. I'm a local belly dancer here in West Seattle. I recently danced at a birthday party down at Ola Salon. It was a blast! I can usually be seen dancing at Marrakesh in Belltown, but I'd love to do more dancing here in West Seattle, so give me a ring! I also teach at Allstar and at the Tully's Arts Brewery across the bridge for anyone interested in lessons. Thanks!! www.MirabaiDance.com

I just wanted to post a huge THANK YOU to Sharon's Westwood Florist on 35th. They donated the vast majority of the beautiful bouquets that decorated Chief Sealth's Senior Prom last weekend. The arrangements were beautiful and the donation was oh so generous. Thanks to Sharon's for supporting their community high school!

My son left a Boston Red Sox bat bag (red) in the parking lot at Lincoln Park a few weeks ago. We would love to get it back along with the contents -- a Red Sox jacket, bat, batting helmet, batting gloves. The bag doesn't belong to us and we'd like to get it back to the owner. If you know anything, pls. call (937-1859. Thanks.

Come share an interesting evening with neighbors on 4/20 at 7pm at the home of the West Seattle Unitarian Universalists, 4736 40th Ave SW, Seattle (upstairs at the Masonic Temple). All are warmly invited to "Thank God For Evolution!" Michael Dowd is a former United Church of Christ pastor, and the author of the 2007 book, Thank God for Evolution!, which has attracted endorsements from 5 Nobel laureates and a host of leaders across the religious spectrum. "Facts are God's native tongue," Michael suggests, after he examines how notions of God have changed from that of an outside creator/intervener to a sacred name for the Whole. All faiths welcome.

Dear Editor: Real Estate Madness Recently, an article about people burning their houses down rather than allowing the bank to foreclose caught our attention and alerted us to the dire state of the real estate recession facing America today. Another item published told readers that the number of homes facing foreclosure jumped 57% by January 2008 compared to what it was last January. Some states, like Delaware, have gone so far as to establish outreach agencies like The Federation of Housing Counseling to prevent people from losing their properties. When all is said and done, this whole mess came about because greedy banks lured potential home buyers to purchase properties they could not afford. The United Fascist Union proposes legislation be enacted and passed into law, that would restrict what bankers can and cannot do and say, for the common welfare of the community at large. The U. F. U. proposes massive reforms in existing bankruptcy laws to give homeowners a chance to pay off their loans. Sincerely yours, Mr. J. Grimes United Fascist Union U.S. Presidential Candidate

Beware of what you are paying when you purchase food at Luciano's pizza and pasta, they have the menu prices then they have whats on the computer. My entree was suppose to be $10.50 but I was charged $11.99.When I questioned the manager by phone not only was he rude and hung up on me but when I called back to ask him to notify customers prior to paying for their food,he yelled at me and told me he had five other people on hold and hung up on me again,I was looking for a refund or apology, got neither plus he offered to credit my next purchase I told him I wont be back.If youre buying gas and read the reader board you expect to pay the same when you go in to pay.We and others are boycotting Luciano's,their customer service is simply not there.

If Mike Huckabee had made racial comments about a leading black candidate or sexist comments about a leading female candidate, he would have been castigated by the media. How he was able to topple Romney's campaign with religious bigotry is dumbfounding to me. It seems that everyone is oblivious to the obvious. Now that Mitt Romney is out of the race for the GOP nomination, history will show that Mike Huckabee pulled off the political crime of the century. It was Mike Huckabee that raised religious issues among Iowa evangelicals by comments toward Romney's religion. As Huckabee's tactics started to show in the Iowa polls, Mitt responded with his "Faith in America" speech. Romney was then forced to work on damage control. Romney's efforts in Iowa payed off and he continued to rise back in the polls but the damage gave him a second in a state he held firmly until Huckabee's misuse of the public forum. McCain saw his window and concentrated on New Hampshire while Romney was being unduly "occupied" in Iowa. Romney was forced to agressively address things detracting from what his positive messaging had been and did so famously. Romney then relied on comparison ads to contrast differences. These ads were constantly referred to as "attack ads" by Huckabee, who continually portrayed him as "desperate", and "attacking". Then Huckabee, and John McCain for that matter, was able to capitalize on such tactics. Because of Huckabee's misleading of the majority evangelical state of Iowa and with the ignorance of the media toward the Mormon religion, he flew under the radar of a nation that has worked since Lincoln to erase such bigotry. A majority of the nation now sees only that Mike Huckabee won the Iowa caucus and that John McCain began his comeback by winning the New Hampshire primary yet know nothing of the back story. I think it important to present it. Observe for yourself and pass these perspectives along. America was robbed of a president that would have been a TRUE man for change with a proven record of turning things around in the oval office. "What would have been..." is how this campaign will be characterized. Stories will be told without the media and dirty political agendas and America will come to know the authenticity and integrity of Mitt Romney. My only hope is that he finds the determination to try again in four years.
