Viaduct comments sought
I'm getting a little tired of reading letters from the pro-Viaduct crowd here in West Seattle complaining about how they're being "ignored," or how we're being "lied to" or "deceived by" everyone ranging from the city to the governor to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Vote yes on Proposition 1
On Nov. 4 our region will have the chance to Vote Yes for Mass Transit Now, which will provide real solutions to high gas prices, gridlock and global warming. We are enthusiastic supporters of Proposition 1, which will provide short-term solutions through increasing express bus service while preparing for the future by extending our investment in light rail.

Sea Scout story
I am a reader of the West Seattle Herald, living in Columbia, Mo. I truly enjoyed the articles about Harald Sund searching for, and later finding, his fellow Sea Scouts from the 1952 dedication of the Alki Statue of Liberty. Matthew Miller is the journalist who wrote them, and I just wanted you to know that I think he is a fine writer. I would like to see more of these human interest stories.
