The Seattle Police Department has jurisdiction throughout West Seattle, while the King County Sheriff's Office patrols White Center. The two departments work together on shared law enforcement duties too.

The Seattle Fire Department provides fire protection and responds to medical emergencies in West Seattle from its five fire stations. The North Highline Fire Department serves the White Center community. The following listing includes business office phone numbers.
