Seacrest Boathouse and Pier

Monday, May 12, 2008

1660 Harbor Ave. S.W.

Seacrest Park is a kickoff point for a variety of recreational opportunities, and during the summer, it serves as the launch for the Elliott Bay water taxi. Neighboring Don Armeni boat ramp (see separate listing) provides fishermen a convenient place to dunk their craft. For those who want to catch and eat, Alki Crab & Fish Co. offers a fish market as well as quick fried favorites and steamy chowder. The boathouse-based business also offers bike and kayak rentals as well as bait. Some start their Alki Trail bike ride at the 15-acre park, while others prefer to explore the depths of Elliott Bay off its shores in their scuba gear. Divers must stay 150 feet away from the pier - an "underwater trail" has been installed to help demark the restricted zone. Other park amenities include picnic tables and ADA-accessible restrooms.
